The Zuiderdam is currently offering Holland America Line’s Voyage of the Vikings. After sailing from Boston in late July, the ship is kicking off the second leg of the 35-night itinerary today.
Part of the company’s Legendary Voyages program, the complete cruise includes visits to 18 destinations in the North Atlantic.
Departing from Amsterdam, the second and final segment of the cruise sails for 18 nights and features destinations in the British Isles, Iceland, Greenland and Canada.
Before arriving back in Boston, the Zuiderdam sails to Cork and Dublin, Ireland and Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The 2,000-guest vessel then heads north for visits to two destinations in Iceland: Djupivogur and Reykjavik, where it will overnight.
After a visit to Qaqortoq in Greenland, the itinerary continues with stops in three ports in Canada, including Saint Anthony, Saint Johns and Halifax.
The Zuiderdam is then set to return to Boston on August 24, kicking off a fall and foliage program in Canada and New England.
Previously, the first leg of the Voyage of the Vikings also included visits to other ports of call in the North Atlantic, including Red Bay and Corner Brook, Canada and Oslo, Norway.
The month-long itinerary also featured additional destinations in Greenland and Iceland, such as Paamiut, Nanortalik, Isafjordur and Akureyri.
According to Holland America Line, the Legendary Voyages are a series of special 25- to 59-night cruises that offer in-depth exploration of different parts of the world.
Most of the voyages sail roundtrip from ports in the United States, with itineraries inspired by the company’s 150-year history.
Included ports of call range from “iconic to undiscovered” destinations, the company said, and feature several UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Other regions visited by Holland America’s upcoming Legendary Voyages include Alaska, the Amazon, the South Pacific and Asia
