Fincantieri has reported EBITDA of 214 million euros on revenues of 3,681 million euros for the first half of 2024, compared to EBITDA of 185 million euros on revenues of 3,669 million euros for the first half of 2023.
The EBITDA margin was 5.8 percent this year compared to 5.0 percent last year.
The company stated that it saw strong performances in all of its business segments with a record order backlog of 41.1 billion euros going into 2032 with 96 ships.
Seven ships were delivered during the first six months from five different yards.
According to a prepared statement, Fincanteri stated that it continues to deliver on its 2023-2027 business plan with results in line with year-end targets in a market context characterized by the recovery in cruise orders and significant opportunities in the defense sector both on the national and international levels.
Fincantieri said that it has visibility to 2036 for cruise ship newbuilds, ensuring full employment of its yards. Recent orders include 10 ships for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, two for Crystal Cruises and three for Carnival Corporation, according to the six-month report.
The first half of the year saw the delivery of the Sun Princess to Princess Cruises and the Queen Ann to Cunard Line.
