Tthe Utopia of the Seas hosted the world’s first skydiving event onto a cruise ship as Red Bull Airforce skydivers Luke Aikins and Miles Daisher landed on the bow of the new Royal Caribbean ship.
The stunt took place earlier this month, while the ship was off the company’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
A party, later held on the deck to celebrate the achievement, which took place during the vessel’s inaugural celebrations, was highlighted by a performance from Grammy-winning artist, and the ship’s godmother, Meghan Trainor.
Now offering short cruises out of Port Canaveral, the Utopia of the Seas officially entered service on July 19, 2024.

For its maiden voyage, the LNG-powered vessel offered a three-night cruise that featured visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau. Built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard, the Oasis-class ship was delivered to Royal Caribbean International in mid-June.
The 5,714-passenger vessel is now the largest cruise ship offering three- and four-night cruises to the Bahamas.
Sailing from Central Florida on Fridays and Mondays, the itineraries feature visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay, as well as Nassau.
In related news, the Allure of the Seas also started to offer short cruises to the Bahamas earlier this month.
After repositioning to Miami, the 5,552-guest ship became the second from the Oasis class to sail a regular schedule of three- and four-nights to the destination.
Three other ships in the series, the Symphony of the Seas, the Harmony of the Seas, and the Wonder of the Seas, are offering week-long cruises to the Caribbean while the Oasis of the Seas is sailing seven-night itineraries in the Mediterranean.
After being ordered earlier this year, a seventh ship is expected to join the Oasis class sometime in 2028.
