Continuing with its expansion, Europe’s largest river cruise operator, CroisiEurope, has completed the inauguration of three new ships, the MS Van Gogh, the MS Elbe Princesse II and the MS Renoir.

This increases the total number of ships to 55, reflecting the growth in the river cruise sector. Speaking at the inauguration of MS Renoir in Paris, e-commerce and sales director Lucas Schmitter indicated that investment over the past two years totalled 45 million euros.

MS Van Gogh and MS Renoir have been completely redesigned and redecorated to become Premium Class ships, providing plenty of space and comfort for passengers.

MS Van Gogh will cruise on the Rhône and Saône Rivers, while MS Renoir will cruise on the Seine between Paris and Honfleur. The youngest ship in the fleet, MS Elbe Princesse II, incorporates the same innovative paddlewheel technology as sister ship Elbe Princesse. This ship will cruise on the Elbe and Vltava Rivers between Berlin and Prague.

CroisiEurope has also expanded into Great Britain by creating CroisiEurope UK Ltd to help develop the British market.

For 2019, CroisiEurope will build a brand new ship, the MS Amalia Rodrigues, which is destined for the Douro and will be the company’s sixth ship on this river. CroisiEurope is currently the only cruise line operating on the Douro that owns its fleet.
