Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has created an evening excursions programme designed to showcase “the best of some of Europe’s top cities after dark”.

Called Nights Out, the concept – which will go live in 2022 –  has been “specially co-curated by the Uniworld team and the brand’s extensive local connections on the ground”, the river cruise line said.

A total of five tours are planned for 2022, including a private Mozart and Strauss concert held at the Albert Hall in Vienna, on the line’s Enchanting Danube itinerary, where guests will be able to “discover legendary composers Mozart & Strauss’ hometown of Vienna with an entirely private concert highlighting their best works”.

There will also be an after-hours visit to St Mark’s Basilica in Venice led by an art historian on the Venice & The Gems of Northern Italy voyage, as well as an evening canal cruise with added entertainment stops in Amsterdam on the new Dutch Delight cruise.

Other options include a tour and tasting at Feldschlösschen Brewery in Basel, during the Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland itinerary.

An evening at Cochem Castle – known as the Pearl of the Moselle – is planned for guests on the Rhine, Moselle & Blissful Baden Baden trip.

From 2023, Nights Out excursions will be included in all of Uniworld’s European cruises.

Uniworld CEO and president Ellen Bettridge said: “We’re thrilled to introduce our first five immersive Nights Out evening experiences, that really dive into the culture, history and traditions of some of the most incredible European cities.

“After receiving wonderful guest feedback from our night time excursions in Venice and Vienna, we built out an introductory portfolio to explore these fascinating cities in a unique and romantic way.

“Our guests really helped us to bring this collection to life and we’re looking forward to expanding it even further in 2023 and beyond.”
