CLIA has launched a four-week programme to “enhance agents’ river cruise knowledge and expertise”.

The River Cruise Challenge, created by the River Cruise Working Group, is intended to boost product and destination knowledge, as well as help agents keep up to date with the latest river cruise updates.

To complete the programme, CLIA has encouraged agents to access its river-specific learning tools, such as a new-to-river cruise guide, and two online training modules, available via the CLIA website.

Agents can also view related videos and past webinars, and subscribe to the CLIA RiverView Podcast via the site.

The association added that agents should also engage with the training on offer from river cruise operators, and become members of both the CLIA Europe and CLIA travel agent Facebook pages.

UK & Ireland managing director Andy Harmer said: “River cruise is going from strength to strength so with wave just around the corner, this is the ideal time for the trade to brush up on their know-how.

“The River Cruise Challenge is available now, as well as next year, for agents who are keen to grow their river cruise sales into 2022 and beyond. And because it takes only four weeks to complete, it will be quick and straightforward for them to add to their existing knowledge.”

Further river cruise 2022 activities, including CLIA’s first River Cruise Residential, will be announced shortly, the association said.

Registration for the CLIA RiverView Conference – in Budapest in March 2022 – is also now open.

The association recently held its Selling Cruise Day in Southampton.
