Tradewind Voyages has announced plans for Golden Horizon’s Mediterranean debut in 2022.

A total of three new collections, Western Mediterranean, Central Mediterranean and Eastern Mediterranean, have been confirmed for the summer 2022 season.

Golden Horizon will begin sailing in Portugal in April and end in Piraeus (Athens) next October. The programme will offer 22 different voyages and include visits to Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece and Turkey.

The 274-guest ship’s inaugural sailing in the region will be a seven-night voyage from Lisbon to Palma, with the Balearic capital becoming the base for all sailings in May.

Golden Horizon will then operate voyages from Civitavecchia (Rome) in June, Split in July and Piraeus from August to October 2022.

Itineraries will range from seven to 11 nights in duration. Full details and pricing will be released on 19 October 2021, the cruise line stated.

Tradewind Voyages CEO Alan McGrory said: “We’re delighted to bring the world’s largest tall ship to the Mediterranean next summer and we are looking forward to sharing the details of this spectacular portfolio very soon.”

Tradewind Voyages recently unveiled information about its plans for 2021/22 Caribbean sailings.

Golden Horizon will make its inaugural voyage in the region on 11 November 2021, sailing from Barbados. In total, the line will operate 21 departures, running to 31 March 2022.

Golden Horizon’s design is based on France II, a square-rigged tall ship built in 1913.

The ship features five bars, spa facilities, three pools, a dining room with central skylight, and 140 cabins with ocean views.
