Scenic will restart expedition cruises to Antarctica on Scenic Eclipse from 6 January 2022.
The line said in a statement that the resumption will make it one of the first cruise lines to return to the region.
Scenic Eclipse – described as the world’s first discovery yacht – will operate a 16-day Antarctica in Depth voyage, departing from Ushuaia, with six days exploring the Antarctic Peninsula.
Included daily excursions will range from cruising among the ice formations in zodiacs, navigating kayaks or paddleboards among icebergs, and hikes with expert marine biologists.
Scenic group chief operating officer Rob Voss said: “Our crew and staff are so delighted to be able to welcome guests back on board our world-class yacht, Scenic Eclipse.
“Besides the opportunity to be one of the first cruise lines to return to Antarctica after nearly two years of no visitors, we are also excited to showcase several enhancements on board Scenic Eclipse – a number of which were driven by our guests’ feedback.”
Scenic is offering complimentary one-way business class flight upgrades with British Airways on selected January, February or March 2022 departures.
The line is also offering savings of up to 20 per cent for new bookings, as well as free private door-to-door transfers.
Scenic Discovery Yachts expedition operations manager Jason Flesher added: “This 2022 season will be like no other, with only a few expedition lines operating.
“Antarctica will have had no tourists for nearly two years, so we are expecting unbelievable encounters and experiences with the wildlife.
“Our expert Discovery Team members’ passion for this part of the world will help bring this unique region to life for our guests.”
Scenic will operate a range health and safety measures are on board, including rapid antigen tests upon embarkation. In addition, all guests and crew will need to be fully vaccinated.
