Royal Caribbean has announced that new ship Wonder of the Seas will sail in Europe next summer.
The Oasis-class vessel will become the world’s largest ship when it officially launches in March 2022, sailing from Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean before making its way to Barcelona and Rome in May.
Wonder of the Seas will then operate seven-night Mediterranean cruises, calling at Palma de Mallorca, Capri, and other destinations.
European sailings will open for bookings on 22 September.
Wonder of the Seas will feature eight on-board neighbourhoods, including the Suite Class Neighbourhood, which the line said will provide an “elevated” experience and the “grandest Ultimate Family Suite yet”.
It will also include a cantilevered pool bar named The Vue, with panoramic ocean views, and Wonder Playscape, described as “an interactive, open-air kids’ play area with awe-inspiring views”.
Elsewhere, Oasis-class regulars such as The Ultimate Abyss, the FlowRider surf simulator, and twin rock-climbing walls will be found on board.
Royal Caribbean International president and CEO Michael Bayley said: “The momentum taking off across bookings and our returning ships in the US and Europe is significant. With half of our fleet sailing again, we are encouraged by what we’re seeing.
“These regions are in the position to welcome a brand-new, innovative ship like Wonder of the Seas. Wonder will shine bright as the world’s newest wonder in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean.
“What’s in store is the ultimate vacation experience that highlights the very best of Royal Caribbean, reimagines renowned favourites and introduces new adventures every guest, no matter their age, can enjoy.”
Wonder of the Seas’ seven-night Caribbean sailings will visit destinations such as Cozumel, Philipsburg, San Juan, and more.
Royal Caribbean recently launched an instant booking bonus – valid during September 2021 – for travel agent partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
