Princess Cruises is dropping all the cruises departing from Galveston that were scheduled for the 2026-27 season.

According to a statement sent to booked guests, the sailings were cancelled as part of a deployment strategy change.

Debuting in the Texas homeport, the Majestic Princess was set to offer a series of 17 cruises from Texas over a four-month season.

“Princess Cruises made the difficult decision to cancel all sailings onboard the Majestic Princess from Galveston scheduled between November 2026 and March 2027 as part of our broader global fleet redeployment strategy,” the company said.

“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the understanding as we work to enhance our global cruise offerings,” the company continued.

Repositioning from New York City, the 2017-built ship was set to offer a series of five- to seven-night cruises to the Western Caribbean departing from Galveston.

Itineraries featured visits to Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, as well as Isla de Roatán in Honduras.

All affected guests are said to have received a full refund while Princess is “actively assisting them with alternative cruise options, including other sailings from Galveston and a variety of Caribbean itineraries.”

“We remain committed to delivering exceptional vacation experiences and look forward to welcoming guests onboard the Majestic Princess in its soon-to-be-announced deployment.”

Princess is still set to offer cruises from Galveston during the 2025-26 season, with the Regal Princess arriving in Texas later this year.

The 3,560-guest vessel will offer four- to eight-night itineraries to destinations in the Western and Southern Caribbean.

After a six-year hiatus, the Ruby Princess marked the company’s return to Texas in December 2022.

Princess later expanded its offerings from Galveston with the deployment of the larger Regal Princess, which is part of the company’s Royal-class series.
