StarCruises and Dream Cruises have officially relaunched with a ceremony aboard the Star Voyager, which set sail from Singapore on March 26.

The event marked a new chapter for both brands, which share a 30-year history and now operate under a renewed vision for cruising, the company said in a press statement.

It also coincided with Star Voyager’s maiden voyage under the StarCruises brand. The ship will homeport in Singapore and offer itineraries with stops in destinations such as Jakarta, Melaka, Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City.

The ceremony was officiated by Jean Ng, assistant chief executive of the experience development group at the Singapore Tourism Board, and Jacqueline Tan, CEO of Singapore Cruise Centre, along with StarCruises and Dream Cruises CEO and Executive Director Colin Au, President Michael Goh and other senior executives.

The launch coincided with Star Voyager’s maiden voyage under the StarCruises brand following a $50 million refit. Departing from the Singapore Cruise Centre, the ship will homeport in Singapore and serve destinations including Jakarta, Melaka, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City, offering flexible embarkation options across multiple countries.

“We are thrilled and honoured to return to our roots with the launch of the revitalized StarCruises and Dream Cruises brands, offering an enhanced cruising experience. To celebrate this milestone, we are also excited to introduce the Star Voyager, as she embarks on her maiden voyage from Singapore, exploring the wonders of Southeast Asia,” said Goh.

“Star Voyager’s seasonal homeporting in Singapore, offering several new itineraries across Southeast Asia, marks an exciting milestone for our cruise industry. Her addition bolsters our variety of cruise offerings in Singapore, underscoring the strong confidence in Singapore’s flourishing cruise industry. As one of Asia’s leading cruise hubs, we remain committed to strengthening our cruise offerings for locals and international visitors to enjoy,” added Ng.

Jacqueline Tan, SCC CEO, said: “Singapore Cruise Centre is extremely pleased to welcome back StarCruises to homeport at our Terminal again. This feels like something of a homecoming since their first ship – Langkapuri Star Aquarius – was homeported with us 32 years ago, back in 1993.

“Our Harbourfront Cruise terminal location also provides Star Voyager passengers seamless access to the Precinct’s rich amenities with over 1 million sqft of retail and F&B space, a convenient multi-modal transportation hub for easy access to Singapore’s many attractions, including Sentosa, which sits right across the Bay. These attributes reinforce our position as a preferred port for smaller and medium-sized vessels.”
