The Gemini sailed from Piraeus last week to kick off Miray Cruises’ 2025 season in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Cruising to Greece and Turkey, the 960-guest ship is now offering a series of port-intensive short cruises in the region.

For the first sailing of the season, the Gemini visited four destinations as part of an island-hopping itinerary.

Set to be offered regularly in March and April, the three-night cruise sails from Piraeus early, allowing the ship to arrive in Mykonos on the same day.

Guests are then able to enjoy the island’s nightlife as part of a three-hour call, followed by a late-night departure to Syros.

The itinerary includes a full-day visit to Syros before its last day, which is split between Kusadasi and Patmos.

Other ports of call set to be visited by the Gemini this year include Rhodes, Cesme and Santorini. Calls to the latter, however, were recently cancelled due to seismic activity on the island.

For all sailings scheduled for March, Miray replaced Santorini with a visit to Syros. Previously announced visits to the island are expected to resume in April.

Gemini’s summer season in the Eastern Mediterranean runs through early October.

Originally ordered for Crown Cruise Line, the Gemini sailed for several cruise lines before joining Miray’s fleet in 2020, including Cunard Line, Star Cruises, Happy Cruises, Vision Cruceros and Quail Cruises.

The 20,000-ton vessel also offered summer programs in the Eastern Mediterranean in 2016 and 2017 for Celestyal Cruises as the Celestyal Nefeli.

During its 30-year sailing career, the Gemini served as a floating hotel during two Olympic Games: the 2012 Games in London and the 1992 Games in Barcelona.
