The Celestyal Discovery sailed from Lavrion last week for the first cruise of its 2025 summer season.

After undergoing a refit during the winter, the ship sailed from its homeport with 47 additional cabins, as well as several enhancements.

According to Celestyal, work included the addition of two new restaurants and the conversion of new premium staterooms.

The Celestyal Discovery then welcomed guests back in Lavrion on Mar. 21, 2025, kicking off a three-night cruise to Greece and Turkey.

Part of Celestyal’s “Iconic Greek Islands” itinerary, the sailing includes visits to Mykonos, Kusadasi and Patmos.

Due to recent seismic activity on the island, a previously scheduled visit to Santorini has been replaced with a call to Heraklion.

According to Celestyal, visits to Santorini will be resumed once the situation improves and a safe and enjoyable experience can be assured.

Extending through late November, the ship’s deployment in the Eastern Mediterranean includes a series of three- and four-night cruises.

In addition to Mykonos, Kusadasi, Heraklion and Patmos, the itineraries are also set to visit Rhodes.

In late 2025, the Celestyal Discovery is set to make its debut in the Middle East for a series of cruises in the Arabian Gulf.

Sailing in the region along with its fleet mate Celestyal Journey, the 2003-built ship offers three- and four-night cruises departing from Abu Dhabi.

The “Iconic Arabia” itineraries were recently enhanced and now include visits to destinations that include Dubai, Sir Bani Yas, Doha, Ras Al Khaimah and Khasab.

Originally built for AIDA Cruises in Germany, the Celestyal Discovery joined the company’s fleet in early 2024.

Following the Celestyal Journey, which was acquired by Celestyal in late 2023, the 42,400-ton ship became the second to debut for the company in a few months’ timeframe.
