After completing their final sailings for P&O Cruises Australia, the Pacific Adventure and the Pacific Encounter are currently undergoing a makeover in Melbourne.
According to an update shared by Carnival Cruise Line, the ships are getting several updates before entering service for the brand later this month.
The work being carried out includes the addition of new Carnival logos, as well as the installation of the company’s HubApp, which allows guests to stay in touch onboard.
Before resuming service as the Carnival Adventure and the Carnival Encounter, the ships are getting over 12,000 square meters of new carpet.
Carnival is also taking advantage of the makeover to train the crew onboard. According to the update, 96 percent of P&O crew are staying onboard for the brand transition.
Cast rehearsals for Carnival’s new shows are also underway onboard both ships, the company said.
The Carnival Adventure is scheduled to make its debut on March 29, 2025, departing from Sydney for a four-night cruise to Moreton Island.
On that same day, the Carnival Encounter sails from Brisbane for a seven-night cruise to the South Pacific islands.
The itinerary features visits to destinations in New Caledonia and Espiritu Santo, such as Noumea, Lifou and Champagne Bay.
Sailing from their homeports on a year-round basis, the sister ships are set to offer three- to 14-night cruises to various destinations in Australia and the South Pacific.
Originally built for Princess Cruises, the sister ships entered service in the early 2000s as the Star Princess and the Golden Princess.
According to Carnival, the Adventure and the Encounter will continue to offer the same standard of service and quality set by P&O Australia, in addition to a series of new features.
Passengers embarking on the vessels will also be able to take advantage of Carnival’s VIFP loyalty program.
