Avalon Waterways is enhancing its fleet of Suite Ships with a series of upgrades aimed at improving style, comfort and connectivity, the company said, in a press release.

Over the next two years, the river cruise line will introduce refreshed interiors, upgraded outdoor spaces and enhanced Wi-Fi on the Avalon Alegria, Avalon View and Avalon Envision. The improvements are part of Avalon’s commitment to refining its “Better By Design” experience while maintaining the signature panoramic views that define its river cruises.

“At Avalon, we believe the perfectly designed river cruise starts with a perfectly designed ship, inviting guests to explore the world in comfort and style” said Pam Hoffee, president of Avalon Waterways. “With our fleet-wide refresh, we’re elevating details – from drapes on the widest-opening windows in river cruising and décor of our Panorama Lounges to fit-for-purpose fitness centers and fleet of new bikes – ensuring that our Suite Ships continue to set the standard for effortless, along the world’s waterways.”

Key updates include:

• Refreshed Interiors: Updated décor across all public spaces, including new flooring and furniture.
• Enhanced Connectivity: A second Starlink antenna for improved high-speed internet.
• Upgraded Sky Deck: Modernized design and new furniture to complement panoramic views.
• Observation Lounge Enhancements: More comfortable seating for front-row river views.
• Fitness Room Upgrades: New Kinesis weight machines and an expanded selection of free weights.
• Expanded Cycling Options: 15 new bikes and four e-bikes added to each ship.

 

The refresh will be completed in phases:

• 2024: Avalon Passion, Avalon Imagery II, Avalon Poetry II, Avalon Panorama, Avalon Vista
• 2025: Avalon Artistry II, Avalon Impression, Avalon Illumination, Avalon Tapestry II, Avalon Tranquility II
• 2026: Avalon Expression, Avalon Visionary
