“(There have been) some significant investments in our private island strategy, particularly at Great Stirrup Cay,” said Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, during the company’s year-end and fourth-quarter earnings call.
“We are making a critical investment in a new two-ship peir scheduled to open in late 2025. This strategic enhancement at one of our highest-rated ports will be a game changer for our guest experience,” he added.
He said that while it is still premature to comment on 2026 guidance or yield benefit from the added peer, Norwegian anticipates welcoming over one million guests to the island in 2026, increasing from approximately 400,000 guests in 2024.
The growth will be supported by a shift to more Caribbean deployment beginning in late 2025.
“Looking ahead, this positions us well to make targeted investments to further enhance both the guest experience and financial returns from this premier destination,” Sommer said.
Sommer noted that the increase in guests is higher than what the company previously expected, as it has now finalized its 2026 deployments.
“I believe we’re scheduled to have just over three million guests next year,” Sommer said, indicating that this would mean over 30 percent of all Norwegian guests would be visiting the destination in 2026.
