The Allure of the Seas arrived in Europe this past weekend ahead of a planned drydock refurbishment and a summer season in the Mediterranean.
Concluding a trans-Atlantic cruise, the Royal Caribbean International vessel docked in Barcelona on Feb. 22, 2025.
After departing from Miami earlier this month, the ship offered a 12-night repositioning voyage that visited destinations in Spain.
In addition to Barcelona, the Allure visited the ports of Palma de Mallorca and Cartagena before arriving in Barcelona.
The 2010-built ship is now scheduled to enter drydock for a major refurbishment as part of the Royal Amplified refit program.
According to Royal Caribbean, the Allure of the Seas will see various enhancements, including the creation of new suites, as well as Royal Caribbean’s signature Ultimate Abyss slide.
The 220,000-ton ship will also debut new dining venues and bars, an upgraded pool deck and refreshed family-friendly spaces.
In line with other Oasis-class vessels, the vessel will see the addition of The Perfect Storm, a trio of waterslides that includes Cyclone and the Typhoon racing slides, as well as the SuperCell, a champagne bowl designed to maximize twists and turns.
Upon completing its refurbishment, the Allure of the Seas kicks off a summer deployment in the Western Mediterranean.
The ship’s schedule includes a series of seven-night cruises to destinations in Spain, Italy and France, such as Palma de Mallorca, Naples and Marseille.
With cruises departing from the ports of Barcelona and Civitavecchia, the season runs through late October.
After a trans-Atlantic crossing, the Allure of the Seas is scheduled to arrive in Fort Lauderdale for the 2025-26 winter in early November.
As part of its winter season in the region, the vessel offers six- and eight-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
Most of the itineraries include a visit to Royal Caribbean’s private island destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
