MSC World America has completed sea trials in the Atlantic, testing engines, maneuverability, fuel efficiency and safety systems.

According to a press release, the LNG-powered ship is now undergoing final preparations at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France before its official delivery on March 27. The naming ceremony is set for April 9 at MSC’s new cruise terminal in Miami, followed by a maiden voyage to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas.

The MSC World America begins its inaugural season on April 12, offering seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries with stops in Puerto Plata, San Juan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Roatán and Ocean Cay.

The cruise line’s 23rd ship is designed specifically for the U.S. market, blending European style with American comfort. It will be the first in the fleet with seven onboard districts, featuring 19 dining venues, eight bars and lounges and new concepts like Greek restaurant Paxos and the only Eataly restaurant at sea.

The 22-deck ship spans 333.3 meters, accommodates 6,762 guests and offers over 38,400m² of public space.

The company will also launch the MSC World Asia in 2026 and a fourth World Class ship in 2027.
