Silversea has shared highlights from two events hosted during Silversea’s Controtempo World Cruise 2025. The events were held in Hoi An, Vietnam, and Singapore on Feb 1 and 7, respectively.
Hoi An
The company said in a press release that guests disembarking the Silver Dawn in Da Nang, Vietnam, boarded a boat to cruise down the Thu Bon River after sunset, which featured Hoi An lanterns during the celebration of the Tet Lunar New Year.
Local delicacies, champagne and other regionally inspired drinks were offered. Guests were then taken to one of three restaurants of their choosing: Tok, Dao Tien, or the Cargo Club Café.
According to Silversea, TOK offered a Vietnamese-fusion menu inspired by the restaurant’s on-site vegetable garden. Menu highlights included Chicaron (pork crackling with lemongrass and lime), bo tai chanh (wagyu carpaccio) and braised lamb shank.
Dao Tien offered present-day local favorites with traditional dishes, with a menu that reflected Vietnam’s cultural heritage reimagined. Menu highlights included Vietnamese-style pork taco, pumpkin soup with pan-seared tiger prawns, wok-fried beef tenderloin with phu quoc pepper and steamed rice.
The Cargo Club Café, said to be known for its Vietnamese comfort food, offered a family-style menu with Black pepper beef with jasmine rice, sautéed coconut prawns and skillet-cooked duck breast.
Singapore
The event featured a bird’s eye view of Singapore with a 360-degree look at the skyline and privatized access to the SkyPark Observation Deck and Ce La Vie Restaurant of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
According to the company, it featured the Hawker Market, Malayasian Kompang Drummers and the celebrations of the Lunar New Year with a traditional Lion Dance.
The event also featured Chinese Silk Dancers, the local Masked Face Changers and an Indian Bhangra Dance.
Culinary classics served from Hawker stalls included prawn laksa, chicken rice and roti.
